Performance
"Heart Beat Core" intersects new media with dance and music composition. Using a human-computer interface, movement and sound are mediated by an electronic device that captures the performer's heartbeat and translates it in real time. The sound composition results from the transformation of a cardiac landscape that develops with movement and finds variations both due to effort and the rest of the body. In a biofeedback relationship, biometric data is the stimulus for creation itself, in which the body's resistance and its capacity for self-regulation point to a circularity of interactions and dependencies. It is a project that articulates dynamics between body, machine, movement and sound.
